Is it possible an end-user version of the upgrade for the iMac FP will be provided?
I don't really like the sound of sending my logic board to be upgraded, and the shipping for the entire machine will be extremely expensive! Have you considered setting up a UK authorised installer for your product?
Is there soldering to the logic board to be done by the upgrade, or is the CPU socket-based?
Thanks

The CPU is soldered directly to the logic board. The equipment required to do the "removal and replacement" is $50,000. Not really a enduser option.

Another Question on the same product (iMac G4 FP upgrade):
What about other RAM upgrade options (can you do it? how much?). Specifically, for a 20" G4 iMac (now at 1.25 GHz). When I order the XLR8 MAChSpeed XLR8 1.92GHz upgrade, what about a RAM upgrade to 2GB? While this is beyond the apple spec sheet, Mactracker (http://www.mactracker.ca/) says this model will support 2 GB of RAM (I would guess 1 GB in each slot). Or is the 2GB RAM configuration no longer viable after the XLR8 MAChSpeed XLR8 1.92GHz upgrade?
Also, [for the same product], I noticed the 1GB RAM option is no longer listed (it now say ==== $199 - )
Thanks,
PS If you don't know if this will work, I would be willing to let you try it on my machine, and I'll pay for it if it works.

Thanks for the note. I have fixed the page. The RAM options were scrambled. Yes we can do 1 GB RAM on the DDR based machines like yours.

Thanks for the quick response.
Just another nit, (I guess I'm just dense this morning). What is the difference between MAChSpeed G4 iMac Flat Panel CPU Upgrade and MAChSpeed G4 iMac Flat Panel CPU Upgrade Kit? The both say "This is a system level upgrade, factory installed in your system by Daystar's Apple Certified technicians." I think MAChSpeed G4 iMac Flat Panel CPU Upgrade is the one I want, that is where I ship you the whole machine right?

Does the 1.25Ghz logic board (the USB2.0 one) fit inside the casing of the 1Ghz (USB1.1) machine?
I was thinking I could do this and also get USB2 ports at the same time if it was a simple case of swapping the logic boards over!?!
If this is possible technically, would you be able to provide a CPU upgraded USB2.0 logic board in return for a perfect working order 1Ghz CPU logic board?
