Ok i downloaded my machspeed control for osx. I am running 10.3.9 on a lombard with 512 megs of ram and a 40 gig HD. I followed the install instructions, which require you to reboot, so i did. Then you are supposed to go to the machspeed control in the utilities folder and open that up and enter the serial number. I go to do this, and it says it cannot find the machspeed kernel. And says if u safe boot to hit reset and restart, so i tried that. Went back to the machspeed in the utilities again and said the exact same thing, cannot find kernel. So i have never been able to get to the point to enter the serial number. If u go to system/library/extensions the machspeed kernel isin there, but the machspeed in the system/library/startup items is not. So i am confused on what to do. Far as i know there is no third party software installed similar to the machspeed control. Any help appreciated.

Can you share with the group, what terminal command you used, and what 3rd party extension was blocking MAChSpeed control?

I used the one that i read in another topic in this forum that you gave to another member who had the same problem. It was      kextstat | grep -v apple

The third party extension was one used for the 2wire modem. I cant remember the exact name now, but thats what it was. Its the modem i used through SBC yahoo DSL. I had to install drivers for it to be used through USB since my ethernet port was damaged by a storm. But now i have  a wireless card so it doesnt matter anymore. So problem solved. I guess there would be problems again if i did have to install those drivers for the USB connection so that would kinda not be too cool but with the wifi card i dont have to use it.
