I saw the specs on the ProView, and it said that it only supported 1 device per card/system (unlike the InterView).
I understand the bandwidth requirements involved, but would it be possible to add a feature to the ProView driver to support multiple ProView(s) per system, and only trigger a "snapshot" from them one-at-a-time, or to put them in a mode where it is basically 30fps/number-of-devices, for security applications?
I don't really like QVGA, and am planning to upgrade my security cameras to VGA, at least. Four times the data is a chunk, but we are also talking about a 400+Mbps interface (USB 2.0). That HAS to help!
I'm sure that Milo Bird would be MORE than happy to help with the integration of that driver with Security Spy!
Thanx In Advance,
-Doug

Hi Doug,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
The ProView does support multiple devices.
You can set the preview to a smaller size, which will let it support more on the same USB 2.0 chip. Then the snapshot will still be full size... but then again, you could just get the InterView and do the same thing.
The bandwidth of the active image is what is limiting the number of USB 2.0 capture devices.

Excuse my ignorance. However, I think I could answer my own questions if the product manuals were available online.
So what you are saying is that the ProView is a "push" device. In other words, the driver doesn't go out and say "Ok, ProView #1, send me a "frame" of data, please", but rather each ProView says "Here's a frame of data". So there is no way of achieving a 30fps/number-of-devices frame rate PER device at 640 X 480 resolution, right?
Boy, that would be a great addition to your driver, to be able to call it with an argument that specified WHICH ProView would respond with a single-frame (snapshot?) (in addition to the regular call structure). That way, the application-side would be able to manage the USB port traffic.
