I'm in the midst of re-purposing an old Pismo running Tiger as an iTunes jukebox of sorts (with the hopes of being able to put a bunch of my CDs in storage). I put in a 250 GB hard drive and am re-ripping my CDs in lossless audio and playing the music through the optical out in an Airport Extreme. So far, it's all working great, but I've also decided to try and send the video to the TV (not hi-def yet, although I don't think that should matter for this question). In so doing, I stumbled upon a happy discovery: my three-month old daughter loves watching the iTunes Visualizer on TV.
So here's the question--finally: will upgrading to G4 appreciably increase the frame rate of the Visualizer? Right now, it's about 9 frames a second, give or take. I ask because when I happened to fire up the Visualizer on my MacBook Pro with the much smoother 30 frames per second, she seemed even more transfixed, and regardless, I just liked it more. So what kind of bump could I expect? Thanks!

The short answer is yes.
The visualizer uses the AltiVec engine in the G4 for rendering.
