I have 2 laptop CPU upgrades from Daystar; a Wallstreet G4/466 and a lombard G4/433. Both have run fine out of the box and the support from Daystar has been excellent (Gary is very quick to answer questions).
Consider me a happy customer.

Hello,
Small question if I may. I have a dear Lombard which I have had a long time (initial owner) . It does 9.2.2. great but had the OS X issue with it being a "copper" chip and feels to decline much time spent in OS X ( it's cache is fine ). I know no one can answer this for certain but, does the G4 upgrade solve this issue? Any feedback or insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

| You'll get full speed via the G4. The older 750 chip issue was primarily that is had problems with the cache.

Hello Gary,
Thank you for your quick reply. Even if the caches sais it is OK as in 1 Meg? I am sure you are right. I wish I could just replace the caches and have a fully working G3 with OS X but I know it is not as easy as that. G4 would be great as well, and could hold me off one more year. Sleepless nights will follow I am sure. Thank you again for your insight. So very much appreciated.
Thank you.

If I may, just one more question;
Just as you said, I turned off my cache on startup and it seems 99% more stable in OS X although it is crawling now. I noticed you have a cache replacement service as well. Would you think this would/could have the potential of solving my OS X/G3 issues? I am noting this for two reasons ofcourse. One being that it "could" be a more affordable path for me ( if it works?) and the second being that the speed thing is important but the stability of the system ( PowerBook) is greater priority in OS X. Thank you again.

Replacing the cache works in about 90% of the cases. In others, the issue is due to a CPU issue.
